You don't say if this is a new install or if you are working with an old system no one has used in years. That information makes a difference. If you are working on an old system, you can use MMPV. Put in the company codes you need to have closed/open. Then enter the period to be opened and the fiscal year. If you want to You may have to do one period at a time. This will only work if 2008 is in your SAP calendar.
