A Lot of workplaces these days have got on the Health and Safety bandwagon and have banned people sitting with earphones stopping up their ears. Apparently it prevents them from hearing fire alarms and such.
I am at a clients location right now, and there is a little radio sitting on top of a cupboard in the corner, playing some classic pop with periodic phone in quizzes.
